FAQ—Be A Star Awards
1. The Be A Star Award levels are the ones posted in the library. In general, the picture books are points needed and
chapter books are a certain number of books needed to reach a level. Not every series is included in these awards.
2. A student may try to achieve a level during the current year including summer reading but they cannot go back to the
previous year(s) for books read.
3. It is the student’s responsibilities to let either their teacher or Mrs. Bellomo know if they think they have met the level.
The comprehension for a level should be an average of 90%.
4. If a student has reached a level, Mrs. Bellomo will make their award for the next assembly.
5. A student will receive the award at the following Student of the Month or Spirit Assembly. The cut off for the current
month to receive your newest award is the Friday before the student of the month/sprit assembly.
6. If a student had a lanyard from last year they need to leave it at school – we will not be replacing them. We do have a
list of students that should have their lanyards. 5th graders will take their lanyards home on the last day of school.
