Chromebooks
Student Responsibilities:
As users of district-owned Chromebooks, students should understand that there is no expectation of confidentiality or privacy regarding any usage on these devices, whether for school-related or personal purposes, except as specifically provided by law. The school reserves the right to log, supervise, access, view, monitor, and record the use of student Chromebooks at any time and for any reason related to the operation of the school, without prior notice or consent.
This policy is implemented to ensure the safety, security, and appropriate use of technology resources within the educational environment. By utilizing district-owned Chromebooks, students agree to comply with these monitoring measures and understand that their activities on these devices may be subject to scrutiny by school authorities.
Students are encouraged to use district-owned Chromebooks responsibly and in accordance with established guidelines and policies. Any misuse or violation of these policies may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to the restriction or revocation of Chromebook privileges. Ultimately, the goal of this policy is to maintain a safe and productive learning environment while fostering responsible digital citizenship among students.
Chromebook Exchange:
Chromebook exchanges are done at your school site(s) during school hours in the Media Center. Complete a Chromebook Exchange ticket in the Media Center. The media clerk will conduct a quick checkup of your device before processing the exchange. If there are any issues, it will be noted in the exchange slip. Fee(s) will be sent home.

Volunteers
Our school is grateful for the support of our amazing parent and family volunteers! There are many opportunities to get involved and make a positive difference in our students' experiences. Whether you are a parent, guardian, grandparent, or family member, we welcome you to be part of our school community.

Health Services
The La Verne Heights Elementary Health Office is staffed by Angelica Araujo, Health Clerk, and Heather Martyn, RN, BSN, School Nurse. Our Health Office is committed to supporting the health and well-being of every student while ensuring a safe learning environment.
If your child becomes ill or is injured during the school day, they should report to the Health Office. Our health staff will assess your child's condition and contact a parent or guardian if necessary.

Returning to School After an Injury
If your child has been injured, received medical treatment, or has been hospitalized, a written medical release from their healthcare provider is required before returning to school. The release should include:- The date your child is cleared to return to school.
- Any activity restrictions (such as physical education or recess limitations).
- Any required assistive devices (such as crutches, a sling, splint, or brace).
- The expected duration of any restrictions or accommodations.
Health Screenings
La Verne Heights Elementary conducts health screenings in accordance with California state requirements.- Vision and Hearing Screenings are provided for students in Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade, all students receiving special education services, and students referred by a parent or teacher.
- Dental Screenings are conducted for Kindergarten students. Parents and guardians will receive notification prior to the scheduled screening.
